Job Purpose
The faculty member serves as a academic leader delivering high-quality nursing education aligned with ACEN standards and UAE MOHESR regulations. The role integrates student- centered teaching, clinical competency development, impactful research, and industry collaboration to graduate practice-ready nurses and strengthen institutional research visibility — in full alignment with Fujairah University's strategic mission.

The role integrates student- centered teaching, clinical competency development, impactful research, and industry collaboration to graduate practice-ready nurses and strengthen institutional research visibility — in full alignment with Fujairah University's strategic mission.
Core Responsibilities
1. Teaching & Clinical Education
- Deliver undergraduate and postgraduate courses using competency-based, simulation-integrated, and evidence-based approaches.
- Apply active and experiential learning methods (e.g., simulation, OSCEs, case-based learning, problem-based learning).
- Supervise clinical training and internships with affiliated healthcare partners.
- Advise and mentor students; supervise capstone projects and theses.
- Develop course syllabi aligned with QF Emirates qualification levels, with clear mapping of Course Learning Outcomes (CLOs) to Program Learning Outcomes (PLOs).
- Use LMS and digital/AI-enabled tools to enhance learning outcomes.
2. Curriculum & Quality Assurance
- Design and continuously improve curricula aligned with ACEN and MOHESR requirements.
- Ensure clear learning outcomes, constructive alignment of assessments, and measurable competency attainment.
- Contribute to program review, CAA accreditation documentation, and quality assurance cycles.
- Prepare and review academic quality reports including course reports, program effectiveness reports, and assessment of learning reports.
- Support inter-professional education across health and allied health disciplines.
3. Research & Scholarly Impact
- Maintain an active Scopus-indexed research portfolio with measurable impact metrics appropriate to rank (h-index; FWCI ≥ 1 preferred).
- Publish in reputable peer-reviewed journals and pursue internal and external research funding.
- Present research findings at national and international conferences.
- Align research with UAE national health priorities and innovation agendas.
- Supervise student research and foster a scholarly culture within the department.
4. Student Advising & Academic Support
- Provide academic advising and guidance on program progression, professional development pathways, and career planning.
- Support student well-being and facilitate access to university support services.
- Participate in thesis/graduation project examination committees.
5. Industry Collaboration & Knowledge Transfer
- Build and sustain partnerships with hospitals, healthcare organizations, and relevant professional bodies.
- Co-develop CPD/CNE programs, workshops, and clinical training initiatives with industry partners.
- Conduct joint or applied research and consultancy activities with healthcare industry partners.
- Support student placement pipelines and graduate employability initiatives.
6. Academic Service & University Engagement
- Serve on departmental, college, and university-level committees.
- Contribute to program development, policy formulation, and institutional strategic initiatives.
- Participate in student recruitment, orientation, and university outreach events.
- Promote an inclusive, culturally responsive, and professionally enriching learning environment.
7. Community Engagement & Social Responsibility
- Participate in community outreach programs and health promotion initiatives.
- Provide professional consultation to public health and community organizations.
- Organize or participate in workshops, seminars, and community initiatives related to healthcare development.
8. Professional & Continuous Development
- Engage in continuous professional development (CPD) activities to stay current with advances in nursing practice, education, and research.
- Demonstrate AI literacy and integrate emerging digital tools into teaching and scholarly work.
- Support university efforts to enhance institutional rankings and academic reputation.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education : PhD in Nursing (relevant specialty) from an accredited, internationally recognized institution (full-time study mandatory)
Assistant Professor : 2–5 years academic teaching + 3–5 years clinical experience
Associate Professor : ≥ 5 years academic teaching + strong publication record
Full Professor : ≥ 8–10 years with sustained research leadership and funded research
Licensure : Eligibility for UAE nursing licensure (MOH / DHA / DOH)
Research : Active Scopus profile with rank-appropriate h-index; FWCI ≥ 1 preferred
Language : English (fluent, required); Arabic (desirable)
